799: One More Year?

This past weekend, I spoke five times in my local church and the title of my message was "A Dangerous Masquerade," based on the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5. Then after I spoke, I had the last meeting with the team going to Kenya with me this Thursday. When I got home, I simply ran out of time to do this week's Memo, which hasn't happened very often over the 16 years I have been writing. So here is this week's Memo, albeit a day late. Next weekend, I will produce my Monday Memo number 800. I started the Memo in March, 2001 with the first eight subscribers who signed up at a conference where I was speaking. I never imagined I would still be writing it 16 years later. It is remarkable that I have sat down at a computer 800 times on a Sunday night (except this week), and something was always in my mind and heart to write about. I have had many people subscribe and unsubscribe, and readers have written from all over the world to tell me about what they have learned as they read. If my math is correct, I have only missed two Memos per year for 16 years -- not too bad for a busy man.

Every year, I decide whether or not I will continue the Monday Memo for another year. I will announce my decision next week as i reach the milestone of Memo number 800. So what say ye? Do you think I should continue for another year? Let me know what you are thinking, and next week I will share with you from Kenya what I am thinking. Dear Stanko,

Your weekly memo has blessed me in many ways. I must admit I did not read them every week but whenever I read, I have something to take home. Going 800, I think whats more important is God's faithfulness in what you have been doing since 2001. Perhaps He has sustained you just to minister this way. I give God glory and encourage you to go on
