This is Monday Memo number 800! I began the Memo in 2001, and here I am still writing and creating. I had promised last week to announce my decision to write another year (or not), but that announcement will have to wait until the end of this Memo. So read on, for what may be the last Memo you will ever see.
I am writing a daily travel blog that records our travels and experiences here, and I am posting video and updates on my Facebook page. You can access the blog at your leisure and then picture yourself with us on a future trip. If you can see it, then it will happen!
Also, the website for the 2018 Israel trip is finally ready. Please check it out and then consider giving yourself the pilgrimage of a lifetime by being part of the trip next April.
I have brought with me to Kenya a special edition of my 20th anniversary edition of my first book, Life is a Gold Mine: Can You Dig it? I am pictured here with my dear friend, Kentice Tikolo, to whom I dedicated the book, along with Irene Mureithi and many other of my Kenyan partners and friends. Kenya has played an important role in the development of my purpose message, and I wanted to do something special to commemorate this relationship along my purpose journey.
And now for the announcement. I got more feedback than I expected on my question of whether I should continue the Monday Memo or not. There were some who urged me to move on and use my time for other creative endeavors and others who expressed the important role the Memo continues to play in the development of their purpose journey. I reflected on all the comments, and sought the Lord for His direction concerning this effort, and was certainly willing to call it quits if that is what I sensed was God's direction.
So my decision is as follows: The Monday Memo will return for another year, but it may have a different look. I may or may not write every week. I may draw more on the archived material that most have never seen and some may have forgotten. I may invite guest writers to contribute, or I may simply send along a link to watch or read other good purpose material.
I want to thank you for being a faithful reader and thank the Lord for empowering me to write something that has touched so many lives over the last 16 years. It is an honor to connect with so many through this medium, and I pray that God will continue to use the Memo in a way that will strengthen others and glorify His work in my life where the purpose message is concerned. So for now, it's time to move on to Memo 801, but also add a saying that every good Jew has said for millenia, and that is "Next year in Jerusalem!" Thank you and may God continue to bless the Monday Memo!
